The Myrtle Beach Economy

As most would guess, the local economy is fueled by tourism. From retail sites to restaurants, resorts, hotels and beyond, countless businesses tailor the bulk of their services to outsiders who are in town for a few days or weeks. Tourism has been and likely always will be the primary economic driver of the greater Myrtle Beach area. However, the Myrtle Beach economy would not completely collapse if it were not a tourist hotspot. Myrtle Beach also has a strong manufacturing base that generates ceramic products, foam, rubber, plastic, cardboard, and other materials.
