used RV for sale in NCWhen it comes to choosing the best RV to suit your lifestyle, it can be helpful to understand the differences among the types and classes of RVs for sale in NC. There are certain advantages to all types that can have a major impact on your travel experience. Whether you need ample space as you would find with a Class A motorhome, a more compact vehicle such as a Class B motorhome, something in between like a Class C, or even a towable travel trailer, one of these is sure to meet your needs. One major advantage of all motorhomes is that the driving space and living space is connected, making it possible for passengers to move about the entire vehicle while it is in motion, reducing the amount of stops necessary when traveling long distances. On the other hand, some advantages of travel trailers are that they are lighter, less expensive, and can be towed by a vehicle you already own. Of course, you can always look for a dealer who carries both motorhomes and RVs and get even more for your money. But you’re going to want to know what you’re looking for before you get to the dealer.

Classes of Motorhomes:

  • Class A: These motorhomes look like buses where the cab and passenger space is all one piece. By far the largest type of motorhome, the advantages are their spaciousness and the fact that the living area is always accessible during travel, making them well-suited for full-time use.
  • Class B: These motorhomes are the size of minivans or conversion vans. The driving area and living area are still connected, but there is less space inside. The major advantage of a class B motorhome is its smaller size, making it easier to maneuver on the road and in tight spaces. Another advantage is that they don’t require a large storage area when not in use.
  • Class C: The major difference in this type is that the cab is cut away from the rest of the vehicle. The living area is still accessible from the driving area, but the driver and a passenger can enter the cab from the cab’s side doors. The cockpit style of the cab allows for better visibility for the driver. There is still a lot of space, though not as much as a Class A or B, but Class Cs usually offer extra bed space over the cab allowing it to sleep additional people.

Types of Travel Trailers:

  • Fifth Wheels: These connect to a truck by way of a fifth-wheel hitch. Part of the trailer extends over the back of the towing truck. Fifth wheels offer more space than most other trailer types.
  • Folding Trailers: Also known as pop-up campers, this type folds into a compact trailer that is light and easy to tow behind smaller vehicles, including cars. They are expandable once you reach your destination.
  • Travel Trailers: This type is towed behind a truck or other suitable towing vehicle. They are immediately ready to camp in upon reaching your destination. No setup is involved beyond hooking up water and electricity if you so choose.
  • Truck Campers: These are add-ons that fit into the bed of a pickup truck and provides sleeping space inside. A truck camper is not an actual vehicle as it has no wheels of its own.
